Licensing

Backup Control Suite is licensed by server against the hostid. There are three license types -

• BackupCS NetWorker Server License
• BackupCS Administration Server License
• BackupCS Bundle License

NetWorker Server License -
The BackupCS NetWorker Server License is the base license requirement for installations on a NetWorker server. The execution of the tools on just the NetWorker server will not require further licenses.

Administration Server License -
An BackupCS Administration server is any system used to execute the tools against one or more NetWorker servers. BackupCS Administration Server Licenses are optional.

This allows you to provide control/access to the tools on a different operating system/server to your NetWorker server or across multiple servers with a centralised repository of reporting/management scripts e.g. -

• Manage and report on cloning/staging operations across all NetWorker servers
• Execute and store reports/configuration documentation for multiple servers
• Control groups on multiple servers
• List/check resource configuration across multiple servers
• The Administration Server must have the NetWorker client software installed and is often (but does not need to be) a NetWorker Management Console.

A few of the commands in the tool set do not support remote execution from the Administration server i.e. they must be executed on the NetWorker server. (See System Requirements for more detail.)

Bundle License -
The BackupCS Bundle License provides one NetWorker Server plus one Administration Server License at a discounted price.

Pricing can be found here. Pricing includes one year email support and software updates. Annual maintenance may be purchased to maintain support and software updates after the first year.
